Privacy Policy

CSRA Find ("we," "us") is a local directory for the Central Savannah River Area. This policy explains what information we collect when you use csrafind.com and how we use it. We keep this deliberately simple — we collect very little.

Information you give us

When you submit a listing ("Suggest a listing") or claim a business ("Claim this listing"), we collect what you type into the form: the business name and details, and — for claims — the contact email or phone you provide so we can verify ownership and follow up. We use this only to review and act on your submission.

Vouches (no account needed)

To let you "vouch" for a place without creating an account — and to stop the same person voting many times — we store two things: a random identifier saved in your browser's local storage, and a one-way hashed fingerprint derived from your IP address. We remove the last part of your IP before hashing it, so we neither store your full IP address nor use it to identify you. It exists only to keep vouch counts honest.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to run and secure the site. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we set no tracking cookies. The only data stored on your device is the local-storage item used for vouching, described above.

How listings are sourced

Business and event listings are compiled from publicly available sources (including business websites, public records, and OpenStreetMap) and from user submissions. If you operate a business listed here and want its information corrected or removed, see "Your choices" below or claim your listing.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We use a small number of service providers to operate the site — currently a hosting provider (Vercel) and a database provider (Supabase) — who process data only to provide those services. Some pages link to third-party sites (for example, Google Maps); your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

Data retention

We keep submissions for as long as needed to operate the directory and respond to requests. You can ask us to delete information you've submitted at any time.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you've submitted by emailing us at admin@csrafind.com. You can clear the vouch identifier any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

Children

CSRA Find is a general-audience directory and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
